European IT Outsourcing Deals: Q4 2005

by Andrew Parker, Sonoko Takahashi

Executive Summary

With 28 service providers included in the deal activity database for Q4 2005, Forrester was able to track a total of 102 new contracts signed in the period. That represents one of the most active single quarters in the history of our EMEA outsourcing survey. BPO activity again saw an uplift over the previous year, while infrastructure services fell back somewhat. Financial services retook the lead for deal activity from the public sector. Dutch firms had the greatest upswing in deal signings in a single national market. While many service providers signed just a handful of deals, a group of two or three vendors put pen to paper more than a dozen times each. Just a sprinkling of megadeals interrupted the consistent flow of contracts on or below the €50 million mark.
