Executive Summary

In H1 2006, Forrester surveyed telecom service providers (SPs) in Europe to identify these companies' progress in satisfying enterprises' appetite for telecom managed services and IT outsourcing. Firms are increasingly using telecom SPs for their IT needs — but most of the deals that telecom players signed over the period focused on WAN and voice services. We found that of 68 deals signed in the first six months of 2006, only 28 had an explicit IT component. WAN connectivity (both voice and data) is the most commonly reported feature of managed service contracts with telecom operators.
