In 2003, broadband adoption grew 80% in Western Europe to reach a weighted average of 14.4% of households; this varied from 0.25% in Greece to 29.3% in Belgium. Price cutting in response to competitive pressure has driven this giant, especially in the Netherlands and Belgium. But the positive impact of price cuts on broadband adoption will eventually fade out when it hits the ceiling of the number of households with PCs.
