In January 2006, Forrester surveyed 149 technology decision-makers at North American small and medium-size businesses (SMBs) and enterprises about their approaches to IT security. Security chiefs' cups will continue to overflow in 2006, with malicious code wreaking havoc, information thieves violating customer confidentiality, and hackers infiltrating corporate networks. To combat these threats, companies are deploying a wide variety of security technologies; the most in-demand are network firewalls (55%), antispyware tools (53%), and client antivirus (53%).
