Executive Summary

Despite the efforts of governments and regulatory bodies, the financial crisis rumbles on and has yet to be fully resolved. As feared, it has spread like a contagious virus from finance and banking into other sectors of the economy including communications. The implications of this will be felt within the communications sector all the way through the supply chain. The task of vendor strategists is to piece together a strategy to weather the storm. We recommend eight actions covering the demand, supply, and operations aspects of the business. Obviously recessions are bad news, but just as in good times, companies need to plan their way toward growth and profitability. In recessed times, with a malfunctioning financial sector, cash will be king.
