Executive Summary

German companies are increasingly interested in using Indian/offshore resources for their IT and business process outsourcing (BPO) needs. While many prefer to rely on local German, European, or global multinational firms as the conduit for their offshore outsourcing needs, some are using Indian pure-play vendors. To help companies understand Indian provider capabilities in Germany, Forrester has examined the top six Indian providers' (Cognizant, HCL, Infosys, Satyam, TCS, and Wipro) activities in Germany. Forrester reviewed each provider's revenue, infrastructure investments, human resource strategies, and client engagements. Although working with Indian providers in an offshore model is more of a struggle for non-English-speaking clients, those German firms that are experimenting with going offshore directly with Indian players seem to be having some success. All six Indian providers have already made investments and inroads in Germany.
