Global Banking Platform Deals 2008: Functionality

Three Top Functional Areas Drive Banking Platform Projects

by Jost Hoppermann

with Alex Cullen, Matt Czarnecki

This is an excerpt

Executive Summary

Forrester surveyed 17 vendors of globally deployed banking platforms on their 2008 deals and analyzed the results from a functional and regional perspective. This analysis shows that the global perspective and regional perspectives differ: While there is a clear global top-three group of banking functional building blocks, the demand for these building blocks varies across the seven world regions. The good news for financial services firms and their enterprise architects? In many cases, a number of vendors have delivered functionality in line with both the global and regional functional hot spots — and banks can trust these vendors' offerings in these hot spot areas of functionality for their own initiatives today, in 2010, and beyond.
