Global Banking Platform Deals 2008: Regions

Some Like It Hot

by Jost Hoppermann

with Alex Cullen, Matt Czarnecki

This is an excerpt

Executive Summary

Forrester surveyed 17 vendors of globally deployed banking platforms on their 2008 deals and analyzed the results with a regional perspective. This analysis shows that North America joined Asia Pacific and Europe as one of the most active regions, and Central and South America became very calm regions with the exception of Mexico. The regional perspective offers an entirely different success pattern for banking platform vendors than the global one as far as new named clients are concerned. We expect that in the medium to long term, some vendors selling globally today will not continue as global banking platform suppliers, and enterprise architects need to be aware of how this may affect their platform road maps.
