Green IT Starts To Affect ANZ Sourcing

But Much Can Be Learned From Best Practices In North America And Europe

by Tim Sheedy

with Christine Ferrusi Ross, Elizabeth Rose

This is an excerpt

Executive Summary

While there is a clear trend toward Green IT sourcing and practice within the Australian and New Zealand economies, these firms lag their North American and European peers in their levels of interest and adoption. In Australia, this is partly due to a lack of leadership from the Australian federal and state governments in developing and promoting Green IT strategies for government departments and the private sector. Australian enterprises should look overseas for best practices — particularly to the US, UK, and Denmark, where government departments or non-government organizations (NGOs) are creating the tools and templates that can be reused by any organization across the world to create and implement actionable Green IT strategy.
