Taking Their Existing Partnership To A Logical Conclusion

by Kyle McNabb

Executive Summary

Enterprise content management (ECM) vendor Hummingbird has just announced an agreement to acquire long-term partner and privately held RedDot Solutions for approximately $47.5 million. The acquisition comes as no surprise. RedDot not only completes Hummingbird's ECM portfolio by providing a competitive Web content management (WCM) product, but it also gives Hummingbird a strong WCM offering for SMBs and an expanded presence in Germany, where RedDot is headquartered. This acquisition is good for both companies and their customers because Hummingbird provides greater viability for RedDot's customer base, and RedDot improves Hummingbird's positioning in the ECM market.
