Executive Summary

Since the last evaluation of business process management (BPM) integration suites in July 2005, IBM has built on its leadership position by making enhancements to its BPM and service-oriented architecture (SOA) features, moving its ranking higher among the Leaders. IBM has eliminated redundant runtime platforms that were a remnant of past acquisitions, delivering a BPM solution on a common runtime platform and incorporating several new features for supporting customers in its BPM and SOA implementations. IBM has also taken a leadership role in embedding features for effective SOA governance. The firm has demonstrated a strong corporate commitment to the integration-centric business process management suite (IC-BPMS) space that should enable it to expand its share of this important market.
