IT Consulting: Fighting To Survive

by Manuel Ángel Méndez

with David Metcalfe, Andrew Parker

This is an excerpt

Executive Summary

IT consulting spending in Europe will experience the lowest growth rate of all IT services segments between 2004 and 2008. With a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4% for that period, spending in IT consulting will account for just €18 billion in 2008 – only 14% of the overall market. Advising on outsourcing strategies will be the consulting sweet spot. To boost revenues, vendors must build capabilities around emerging technologies like RFID and high-spending segments like the public sector.
