Macquarium's unusual business model seeks to split its Web design revenues between customer-facing marketing sites and Web applications for internal productivity — an interesting approach. Unfortunately, its overall strategy stacks up poorly against the strategies of many top competitors. And even though the agency delivered a solid reference persona, its reference Web sites were relatively weak.
