HP acquired Mercury Interactive in 2006, and the combined solution provides a very strong business service management (BSM) solution with a new and improved CMDB strategy. The HP BSM solution brings together health and performance information from multiple sources. The Business Availability Center product, which came to HP from the Mercury acquisition, takes center stage. It is the dashboard that reflects the health of business services by providing event drill-downs and evaluating the impact of changes acroys the infrastructure that could impact business services. It can also evaluate the effect of performance issues across the infrastructure on service-level agreements and business services.
