Executive Summary

One-third of US online business travelers know their mobile phone is Web-enabled. Nearly half of these travelers use their phones for travel-related mobile data services such as getting flight alerts via text message. Their active travel nature and comfort with technology make business travelers the ideal audience to participate in mobile data services. Roughly six in 10 business travelers are interested in using mobile data services for requesting flight and hotel room upgrades and check-in. The implications for the industry are clear: Prepare for another disruptive technology, though one with many positive benefits.
