Onyx Software provides sales force automation (SFA) as part of a broader customer relationship management (CRM) and business process management (BPM) platform targeted at the upper midmarket and large-enterprise segments. The vendor has traditionally focused on three primary verticals: 1) financial services and insurance; 2) government; and 3) healthcare but it also has customers in a variety of other industries. Onyx provides highly flexible customization and integration capabilities, but the tradeoff, relative to more prepackaged solutions, is that setup and configuration require more work, time, and money.
