Organizing For eBusiness In Financial Services: Panel Study Results

by Bill Doyle

Executive Summary

Forrester recently surveyed members of our eBusiness, channel and product management research panel to examine organizational models and structures. Most panelists from large financial services institutions report that their firm has more than one eCommerce team. While they're satisfied with the senior management support that they receive, they don't feel that they have enough people to get the job done. The average online group has 81 full-time employees, with an additional 107 employees spending at least some of their time on eCommerce initiatives. Although IT accounts for more resources than any other function, most eBusiness executives feel as though they're not getting the support they need from IT.
