Executive Summary

Despite the dire straits of the world economy, emerging markets continue to hold significant promise for the tech industry. Increased business and consumer use of the Internet and information and communication technology (ICT) drives infrastructure requirements in emerging markets. That growth will continue and will spur technology spending. Brazil, Russia, India, and China (BRIC) will remain a force. However, savvy tech marketers will reach further still for opportunities in more fertile fields within less hyped, but also promising, markets. Specific emerging market opportunities will spring from marketers' global community building and aggressive local adoption of software-as-a-service (SaaS).
