Independent email marketing service provider Responsys holds onto the top spot in this Forrester Wave by continuing to improve its platform to meet marketers' needs. The vendor's campaign automation and integration capabilities are exceptionally strong; they allow marketers to easily tap any data source for segmentation or reporting and automate campaigns for sending by email, RSS, or mobile. With a smaller staff and fewer clients taking advantage of it, Responsys' services arm, however, isn't as established as those of other vendors.
