In two recent Business Technographics® surveys, Forrester asked decision-makers in enterprises from around the globe to prioritize their IT organizations' major technology themes for 2006. Among a collection of themes, six were top priorities: 1) significantly upgrading security environments; 2) significantly upgrading disaster recovery capabilities; 3) consolidating IT infrastructure; 4) replacing existing application systems; 5) supporting changes in corporate governance; and 6) initiating Internet and eCommerce activities. Across regions, upgrading security is the top priority, with 28% of firms citing the initiative as critical. But prioritization of these themes varies by country. Overall, Chinese enterprises are most likely to view technology themes as critical priorities.
