Executive Summary

An effective multisourcing strategy needs robust service integration between suppliers. Get it right and stakeholders delight as IT service delivery is flexible to demand, and service development couples to a willing ecosystem of providers. Firms are currently investigating multisourcing by testing the service integration available in today's market, but multisourcing maturity needs more investment and cultural changes on both the buyer and supplier sides. Investment in the various mechanisms and cultural procedures for outsourcers will accelerate once the revenue and profit opportunity becomes clearer. And services firms need a quid pro quo from their customers in the form of transparent access to the greater IT service opportunities. Sourcing teams must prepare for more mature multisourcing now by building new skills, new internal structures, and processes that deliver access.
