Executive Summary
Forrester’s Software Innovation Assessment Workbook helps you assess your current software innovation characteristics, capabilities, and opportunities for improvement. The tool calculates scores automatically for the archetype that applies to your situation, as the importance and feasibility of the various practices vary for each scenario. All scores are anonymous.
Methodology
This tool calculates a weighted and normalized score from your individual scores in each practice area. The weightings vary for the three scenarios based on Forrester's assessment of the relative importance of each practice to organizations of that type. Because of the normalization that is applied to the scores, the resulting gap analysis takes these weightings into account when portraying the size of the gap: a larger gap will be de-emphasized in scenarios where that practice area is weighted as less important, causing the gap analysis to direct your attention to the practice areas that are truly the most important for you to address.
