April 27, 2005 Spanish Broadband Competition Takes Offby Niek van Veen, Lars Godell with Jaap Favier |
|
This is an excerpt
Strong interest in downloading content has driven Spanish early adopters directly into the arms of broadband. A massive increase in broadband investments and competition in 2005 as well as new triple-play offers will further drive broadband adoption. But low home PC penetration and low overall online penetration will slow down broadband growth by the end of the decade. The result: Broadband will be in 38% of all Spanish homes in 2010. ADSL will remain the dominant access technology, capturing three-quarters of the 2010 market.
