Vitria Technology leads the Strong Performer category in our evaluation of the integration-centric business process management suite (IC-BPMS) market, close behind the Leader group. Vitria has been a strong player in the integration market for several years, but unlike other vendors such as webMethods and TIBCO Software, Vitria struggled more during the 2002 technology bubble burst, going into a sustained period of reduced sales and little or no profits. This recently drove the company to go private, so its equity is no longer publicly traded, limiting its transparency. However, Vitria does provide a strong integration suite product and some specialized vertical applications built on its BusinessWare platform for the telecom and healthcare markets. It also has the industry's most sophisticated business event management (BEM) product, Resolution Accelerator.
