Executive Summary

Web services adoption continues, but it is taking a long time to work out all of the specifications and standards. According to data from recent Forrester surveys, XML 1.0 is the only standard (out of 115 specs in our survey) with universal support across the 33 vendors we surveyed. XML Schema, XSLT, and XPath also had strong vendor support. We did not include core XML specs in our user survey for the reports in this series.
