Executive Summary

Web services adoption continues, but it is taking a long time to work out all of the specifications and standards. According to data from recent Forrester surveys, UDDI has strong support among SOA infrastructure vendors but mixed support — and few current implementations — by user firms. WS-Policy has moderate vendor support and relatively high interest among users. Among other specifications for registry, metadata, and resource management, only WS-MetadataExchange has much vendor support at this time.
