To do this, Carlton and his team focus on advanced customer analytics and marketing measurement techniques, as well as the latest trends among marketing technology and services providers. With a specialty in emerging markets, channels, and technology in the healthcare industry, Carlton is an established expert and sought-after speaker on these subjects, appearing at events such as America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Institute, the World Healthcare Congress, and other industry events. Carlton's research and opinions are regularly quoted in the media, including Healthcare Finance News, Inside Consumer-Directed Care, MarketWatch, Managed Care Magazine, and The Wall Street Journal .
Prior to joining Forrester in 2006, Carlton spent nine years as an IT and eBusiness practitioner in the health insurance industry. As a senior manager of eBusiness consulting at Tufts Health Plan, he led Web strategy initiatives, implemented several Web-based solutions that targeted all health plan constituents, and managed technology vendor relationships. He is a former chair of the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium's Internet Professionals Forum and member of the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX).
Carlton holds a B.S. in civil engineering management from the University of Vermont.
