James has more than 20 years' experience in the industry having served as a reseller, vendor strategist, CMO, journalist, and analyst for companies including Sun Microsystems, Gartner, Rockwell International, Autodesk, and Azul Systems.

He is a frequent speaker at industry, corporate, educational, and Wall Street events and has guest lectured at leading business schools.

Education

Working out of Forrester's Foster City, Calif. office, James holds a master's degree from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California and a bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas.

James is an avid runner with multiple marathons under his belt and now triathlons. He is very active in the fight against cancer, specifically with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and is on the board of governors for the American Biofuels Council.
