J.P. serves Consumer Product Strategy professionals. He leads a team that focuses on consumer technology, with particular reference to product strategies in PCs, software, mobile phones, and mobile services. An expert in consumer PCs, operating systems, and software, his work on style and visual design in the PC and CE space has been widely cited in the industry.
J.P.'s team delves deeply into the dynamics of consumer mobility, both from a technology perspective (product strategy for handset/device makers and telcos) and a non-tech perspective (leveraging mobile to create product strategies in verticals like retail, financial services, travel, and others). His team also makes the call on emerging devices that reference both mobile and PC product strategies, like the iPad.
J.P.'s background includes strategy consulting, market research, and data-oriented consulting positions. Prior to becoming a research director, he was a principal analyst and lead for Consumer Product Strategy professionals wishing to understand the PC, OS, and software markets. He spent several years as a project lead on Forrester's custom research team, where he produced proprietary quantitative research for clients. In this role, he designed, fielded, and analyzed customized research surveys to understand demand-side trends and translated the results of these studies into action-oriented insights.
Prior to joining Forrester, J.P. worked in a variety of management consulting and analyst roles, both in the US and in Europe.
A prolific writer and speaker, J.P. has written articles for publications like the Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post. He has also been quoted in the Financial Times, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post, and he has appeared on NBC television, Voice of America, and other media outlets.
J.P. graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. (magna cum laude) and an M.A. in political science. He also conducted research at the Harvard Business School.
