Peter serves Interactive Marketing professionals. He leads a research team covering all aspects of interactive marketing and has worked with high-profile clients to develop structured, detailed research and analysis in response to a wide variety of client-specific issues. He also has extensive experience in both Web site design best practices, as well as assisting technology vendors in developing go-to-market strategies. Peter has been with JupiterResearch and Forrester Research since February 2000.
Peter came to Forrester through its acquisition of JupiterResearch. He has nearly 10 years of experience in interactive marketing and emerging technologies. He joined JupiterResearch in February 2000 from IN2, a division of TMP Worldwide in New York City, where he was director of technical client services and ClickMaps integration. Working with top executives, programmers, and developers of leading online businesses, Peter oversaw the group that served as liaison between IN2's technology department and those clients using ClickMaps. He began his career as a structural engineer in the submarine shock-testing and shock-analysis group of General Dynamics' Electric Boat division in Groton, Conn. He then became a project manager and engineer for Garcia Consulting in Arlington, Va., where he provided managerial and technical support for the US Naval engineers' submarine shock-testing program. In his next position also in Arlington, as a consultant and project manager for General Electric Company's Marconi Division, Sargent continued with the submarine shock-testing program and was a task leader for the submarine propulsion systems and machinery program. Over the years, Peter has keynoted and presented at several industry events related to digital right management including DRM Watch. He has conducted several interviews with various media including The Hollywood Reporter and has also appeared on CNBC's Closing Bell.
Peter earned an MBA from Virginia Tech and a bachelor's of science in civil engineering from WPI.
