Despite the Greek debt crisis and concerns about a "double-dip recession," we continue to project a strong 2010 IT market. Q1 2010 showed many signs of a rebound in IT purchases, both in the US and abroad. As we expected, computer equipment — especially PCs — and software are leading the upturn, with communications equipment and IT consulting services joining the growth with a lag. The Americas and Asia Pacific will post the strongest growth, with Europe lagging because of a weak economic recovery. Growth will be a mixture of rebounds in beaten-down sectors like computer equipment and licensed software and stronger growth in new technologies like unified communications, SOA and SaaS, and server virtualization.
