Sessions Featuring This Speaker

Bruce Perrin has been in the IT industry for more than 40 years. In the beginning of his career, he designed and constructed special purpose computing devices out of discrete components (no ICs yet) and initially focused on automation systems (feed and roller mills). Over the years, he has designed and built radar tracking systems for commercial use; set up very early, and rudimentary, networking systems; written, tested, and implemented a fully automated factory system in Italy for a major disk drive manufacturer; written in excess of 1.5 million lines of code for various projects; and became involved in the earliest iterations of the internet-of-things, including barcode systems and both active and passive sensor RFID systems. He currently serves as the COO and CIO of Phenix Energy Group, an oil pipeline constructor and operator that is implementing more than 30,000 sensors to enable the highest level of automation possible.
