Consumer Technographics® Asia Pacific Online Benchmark Survey, 2016

Forrester's Consumer Technographics Asia Pacific Online Benchmark Survey, 2016, was fielded from March to May 2016. This online survey included 9,511 respondents ages 18 and older in Australia, metropolitan China (cities of Beijing, Chengdu, Dalian, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenyang, Suzhou, Wuhan, Wuxi, and Xian), Hong Kong, metropolitan India (cities of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune), Japan, and South Korea. For results based on a randomly chosen sample of this size, there is 95% confidence that the results have a statistical precision of plus or minus 1.6% to 4.4% of what they would be if the entire population of online adults (defined as those online weekly or more often) represented in each country had been surveyed.

Forrester weighted the data by age, gender, and geographical distribution to demographically represent the online adult population in each country. The data from metropolitan China was also weighted by income level in the cities of Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Wuhan, and Xian. The data from metropolitan India was weighted by socioeconomic classification, representing groups A and B. The survey sample size, when weighted, was 9,511. (Note: Weighted sample sizes can be different from the actual number of respondents to account for individuals generally underrepresented in online panels.) Ipsos MORI fielded this survey on behalf of Forrester. Survey respondent incentives include points redeemable for gift certificates.
