    Joan Kelly is Group Executive, Core Technologies for MasterCard Technologies & Operations (MTO). In this role, she leads the development of global transaction processing services, including authorization and clearing, finance and settlement, rewards, payment gateway, file transfer, corporate products, and emerging platforms. Prior to this role, she was Senior Vice President, Global Systems Delivery, a role that included overseeing the data warehouse, authorization, clearing, financial systems, Internet development, risk, member parameter systems, corporate products, rewards, and development support. Ms. Kelly earlier served as Senior Vice President, Systems Strategy. In this position, she was responsible for the Systems Enhancement Strategy (SES) and legacy project strategies. The SES initiative was a global, multiyear effort to upgrade core processing systems, leverage advances in hardware and software technology, and deliver new functions, greater speed, and new levels of flexibility in processing to members, creating a stronger competitive edge. Ms. Kelly has been with MasterCard for 23 years. Prior to joining MasterCard, she spent three years at British Telecom, where she managed its Electronic Data Interchange development and service delivery. Ms. Kelly was recognized as one of the Top 100 Women Leaders in STEM, by the STEMconnector organization in 2012. She was named as one of U.S. Banker Magazine’s Top 25 Nonbank Women in Finance in 2008 and 2009 and named among Bank Technology News’ Innovators in Financial Services in 2008. Ms. Kelly attended Concours IT Leadership Development Program, and she earned her B.S. in mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis.
