Nigel serves CIOs and business technology leaders, focusing on the role of technology as an enabler of business outcomes. His research examines the intersection of technology and marketing and includes coverage of business and technology strategy, digital business, social business strategy, marketing technology, and technology trends and their impact on competitive advantage.

Previous Work Experience

After earning a first degree that crossed computer science and business studies, Nigel began a career spent transforming businesses through technology. An early client, Reebok UK, hired Nigel to the executive board at the age of 26. While with Reebok, he partnered with Infosys founders to pioneer the offshore development model that transformed the technology industry. At 30 Nigel moved to Reebok in the USA and now holds both UK and USA citizenship. Nigel went on to a successful career in technology marketing at Radius Retail and Transatlantic Software before launching his first startup, an eCommerce research business, followed by a GPS fleet management software business. Nigel joined Forrester as the general manager and practice leader of the Forrester Leadership Boards in 2006, growing the business more than 300% in three years.

As an analyst, Nigel's leading-edge research focuses on business at the intersection of marketing and technology. Recognized as a visionary with insight into emerging trends, Nigel has published leading research on digital business, social media, business strategy, innovation, retail, and marketing. With previous experience in technology, marketing, and general management roles, Nigel brings a customer oriented marketing perspective to his business technology research at Forrester. His latest research on digital business examines the fundamental business changes needed in the digital economy to win, serve, and retain customers.

Education

Nigel holds a B.A. (Hons) in computing in business from the University of Huddersfield (UK) and an MBA with concentrations in marketing and international business from Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick (UK).
