Design And Build For AI Resilience
Large-scale AI failures don’t just glitch, they can trigger systemic collapses ranging from massive data breaches, unintended cost runs, financial losses, and algorithmic bias scandals, to the complete shutdown of critical systems. These major financial and operational disruptions have hit companies like Zillow, Volkswagen, Air Canada, McDonald’s, and UnitedHealthcare. The impact of a catastrophic AI failure radiates far beyond the technical team, creating a domino effect that touches every corner of an organization from executive leadership, board members, and security and risk, to teams focused on customer experience, digital experience, marketing and sales, and even employee experience. This peer discussion will explore how enterprises are thinking about large-scale AI failures and how they are planning to build resilience from them in all the above teams. This conversation will be hosted by Alla Valente and Sudha Maheshwari and will include open discussion with participants, so please bring your questions and experiences to share with the group. Questions for discussion:What AI failure scenarios have you considered in your risk planning, and do you consider both workforce and customer impact when AI systems fail? How does your organization determine risk appetite for AI in the context of enterprise risk appetite? What does AI resilience look like for your organization? Peer discussions are available exclusively to Forrester Decisions VIP Leader and Leader license holders for their own participation.
