Cheryl McKinnon

Principal Analyst

Cheryl McKinnon is a principal analyst serving enterprise architecture professionals; she helps them support their firm's need for content and collaboration technology capabilities in the age of the customer. Cheryl delivers research and advisory services in areas including enterprise content management (ECM), content archiving, enterprise file sync and share, document-centric collaboration, life-cycle management, information governance, and file analytics.

Previous Work Experience

Before joining Forrester, Cheryl ran an independent consulting firm, serving both private- and public-sector clients. Cheryl has served as vice president of marketing for industry association AIIM, was chief marketing officer of Nuxeo, and held senior management roles with OpenText and Hummingbird.

Cheryl frequently presents at events such as conferences, seminars, and webinars. She is a longtime member of AIIM and ARMA, and has served on their association conference and standards committees. Cheryl has been a guest contributor to a variety of industry publications and has been quoted in TechCrunch, TechTarget, Bloomberg, Reuters, KMWorld, and CMSWire, among others.

Education

Cheryl has a bachelor's degree from the University of Winnipeg, an MA in history from Carleton University, and has completed coursework toward a Ph.D. in history at the University of Ottawa, though she remains (regrettably) "ABD."
