Summary

Wealth management firms provide (at least indirectly) the capital that fuels the tech innovations that move the industry forward. It’s ironic, then, that our 2024 predictions involve both long-standing and cutting-edge technologies. Mundane but key shifts in the digital capabilities of mobile investing apps will offer investors easier ways to trade. Shifting attitudes to ESG investments will challenge investment firms to sort through the rhetoric for their values-oriented clients. And two new iterations of established systems have mixed outlooks: Wealth management as a service will give new entrants an easy leg up, but genAI apps in wealth management won’t avoid the challenges of much-hyped technologies.
