Description

Enterprise architecture (EA) scope has expanded as the EA discipline and practices have matured. Where once EA practitioners needed tools purely to model their organization's current and future landscape, they are now involved in diverse areas such as strategic planning, portfolio planning, and execution and management of the organization's architecture. Enterprise architects now need a more enhanced toolkit.

The expanded scope of EA has attracted interest from a number of non-EAMS vendors. We are seeing strategic planning tools — which previously focused on strategy development – moving into the portfolio planning and traditional EA space. We also see portfolio management vendors — which previously focused on project and financial portfolios — moving into the strategy planning and EA space. EAMS vendors have also reacted to this opportunity to move into strategy development and/or portfolio management.

When developing a toolkit, EA leaders now have to consider the longer-term future of EA within their organization, how they will continue to deliver value to their stakeholders, and how they will help the organization achieve its objectives. This Webinar discusses these considerations and guides EA leaders in making the right choice of tool.

Agenda:

  • The EA Space Is Under Attack From Three Types Of Vendors
  • Traditional EAMS Vendors Have Matured Significantly
  • What To Consider When Choosing A Tool For Your EA Practice

Key takeaways:

  • Your EA tool for today may not meet your needs for tomorrow — select wisely.
  • The EA market is consolidating — be aware of market trends.
  • Models without your business context add no value — assess vendor offerings against your firm's business case scenarios.

Vendors mentioned: Avolution, BiZZDesign, BOC, IBM, Mega, Orbus, Qualiware, Software AG, Sparx, and Troux Technologies
