We used our Mobile Banking Functionality Benchmark methodology to evaluate the mobile banking offerings of Alipay and five retail banks in China on 41 criteria. Last year's top performer Alipay has retained a slight edge over two incumbent banks: China Merchants Bank (CMB) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). This report is intended to help eBusiness and channel strategy professionals benchmark their own mobile banking capabilities, identify good practices, and improve their mobile banking services.
