Summary

In mid-2010, Forrester surveyed 598 CIOs and other senior IT managers across Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, and New Zealand on their current cloud implementations and their plans for and attitudes toward cloud computing. For the most part, cloud maturity is low — organizations are still dipping their toes into cloud services as they move from the analysis stage into experimentation. Market maturity is reflected in moderate overall adoption — those markets that are more mature and competitive, such as software-as-a-service, have higher adoption rates. CIOs in Asia Pacific who are planning to implement cloud computing within their organizations should understand the maturity of the cloud providers and the state of the market before they make significant investments.
