The focus on engaging candidates early in their job search has spurred growth of recruitment marketing and creative sourcing. This is a major change from the time when the applicant tracking system (ATS) was the talent acquisition process. As recent as six months ago, clients seeking new talent acquisition solutions would ask Forrester about ATS solutions only. However, the market is quickly changing from one focused on the internal recruiting processes primarily to one that puts a strong focus on candidate engagement. We call the technology that supports external talent acquisition talent relationship management (TRM). As application development and delivery (AD&D) professionals evaluate talent acquisition solutions, they can learn from the experiences of other users and prepare for the future of integrated TRM capabilities.
