Open source software (OSS) is surging in application development circles, but proprietary solutions continue to dominate in application performance management (APM) used within infrastructure and operations (I&O) teams. Development and operations (DevOps) is a head-on collision of these two cultures, destined to reform one or the other. Forrester believes that fast-moving operations teams will increasingly turn to open source APM tools for the agility and speed required in the age of the customer.
