Value stream management (VSM) tools are starting to fill the gaps that DevOps alone can’t, such as the capture and visualization of KPIs, and the ability to connect business needs to value delivered. Early adopters of these tools come at them from opposite ends of the application development and delivery (AD&D) pipeline — and both starting points have their merits.
