Although firms understand that privacy is important to the customer experience, few appreciate its importance to the employee experience. Yet, employee privacy contributes greatly to the quality of the interactions between employee and employer, and it affects employee job commitment, business performance, and, in the end, the customer experience, too. However, security teams struggle to balance the business, ethical, and regulatory requirements for employee privacy with the security benefits of monitoring employee activity. This report provides security and risk (S&R) teams with seven-point guidance that helps them build more-robust strategies for protecting employee privacy.
