Holiday spending patterns are changing. Black Friday and Cyber Monday help to spread holiday spend more evenly over November and December. UK consumers are spending more online and spacing out their purchases during the holiday season, but overall holiday spending remains stable. The growth in holiday shopper spend will be more subdued in 2016 because consumer and retail confidence remains fragile. In addition, the fall in the value of the pound against the euro and decreasing shopper footfall will impact sales.
