Summary

In 2008, Forrester fielded 231 inquiries on data centers from IT end user professionals, with 137 on data center facilities specifically. Since when does IT care about data center facilities? Since more and more organizations are running out of capacity and are considering outsourcing their data centers as an alternative to further build-outs. This, combined with the fact that IT is starting to take a closer look at its share of the financial burden of the data center facilities, has led to an increase in the number of questions. The most common were around data center energy efficiency, followed closely by those on whether to build or buy another data center.
