Why Read This Brief

In the next five years, the online retail markets in Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina will enjoy steady, high growth. Indeed, of the 27 global markets that Forrester covers, only China and India are set to grow at a faster rate. However, robust top-line growth in the digital channel doesn't always translate directly to mobile platforms. While both China and India will see at least a quarter of all online retail sales coming from smartphones and tablets in 2014, mobile sales will represent less than 10% of eCommerce in Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. This report explores the factors that influence mobile commerce's growth and explains why Latin American mobile and tablet commerce will remain constrained compared with other emerging markets through 2019.
