Why Read This Report
In our Forrester/Disaster Recovery Journal Business Continuity Preparedness Survey, Q4 2008, 89% of the business continuity (BC) decision-makers and influencers we surveyed said that BC had executive-level support. In addition, about two-thirds of respondents said that BC was a priority or critical priority for senior executives. The executive support and prioritization has translated into the institutionalization of BC management (BCM). Approximately 66% of respondents said they had an established BCM program, and 60% of respondents said they held the job title of BC director, manager, or planner. For security and risk management professionals, this means that treating BC as a one-time planning event is no longer acceptable, and this is true regardless of the size of your business. In this survey, Forrester found that enterprises as well as small and medium-size businesses (SMBs) had executive sponsorship for BC, it was a priority for their executives, and they had established BCM programs.
