Summary

Companies must carefully evaluate potential new hires in order to create a workforce with high employee engagement. However, the process of attracting, identifying, and selecting candidates has taken a 180-degree turn over the past decade. For those who haven't been in the talent acquisition market recently, the experience is dramatically different, in large part due to the availability of new technology. The new recruiting process includes recruitment marketing, social media sites, career-site branding, candidate and recruiter interaction, applications submitted from mobile devices, asynchronous interviewing, and culture fit assessments — all with the goal of finding the candidate with the best intellectual, cultural, and customer fit. Application development and delivery (AD&D) professionals play an important role in advising and supporting the recruiting department as they reassess the recruiting process and examine new vendor offerings.
